My Mother truly loved
lighthouses, perhaps it was
their comforting light guiding
vessels in the dark and storm
filled waters to safety.
Maybe it was because they were
beacons in the night, a
tower of strength and
fortitude among dangerous
currents and crashing waves.
Mommy was my protection
against the world, without
her, I am so very vulnerable, a
ship lost at sea.
